120 went on sale in the US, then charted top 50Judged on App Store availability, never on chart absence — most games on sale in the US never enter its top 100. Dates come from Apple’s per-storefront release date, so a game’s US release is known exactly rather than inferred from when it starts charting. Gambling is excluded — casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks are barred from the US store by regulation, so they never graduate. Anything testing over a year is region-locked rather than in test, and a game that does not ship English is a regional edition rather than a test aimed at the US. A test must also run in Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the UK: 119 of the 120 soft launches that went on to reach the US top 50 did, while a test confined to Malaysia or Indonesia is a regional release.
